Free NFL Picks from Stephen G. – Week 1, 2012

2012 Week 1 Free NFL Picks and Predictions:
Whazz up, football fans?  Stephen G. here ready to start another winning year in the picks department.  I’ve had plenty of time to recharge my batteries and analyze all 32 teams while playing some golf and downing a few cocktails to boot!  So, while we wait for Romney to cover the spread in November, here are my picks for week 1.

I went 67-60-4 or 53% last year and while that might be a great year for some of you Custy’s out there, it isn’t even close to good enough for me and anyone else at NSA.  And in full disclosure mode, I am not one of NSA’s professional handicappers, just some slapdick that they let write a blog.

Last Season:

67-60-4 (53%)

WEDNESDAY 9/5

New York Giants Minus 3.5  The last time the G-men were defending champs, they came out hitting on all cylinders and looked unbeatable.  Not sure this trend will repeat this time, but for one night I say it does.  Dallas has been popping off all offseason from their players to coaches to their plastic-faced owner.  The Gmen don’t talk, they play, and they will remind the Cowgirls who owns that division.

SUNDAY 9/9

Houston Minus 12  The Texans have talent on both sides of the ball and when healthy, can play with anyone.  The Fish are starting a rookie and have a rookie head coach and a severe shortage of playmakers.  Other than that, they’re pretty good.  They may improve over time, but not in this game.

Pittsburgh Plus 1   The Steelers have not forgotten how embarrassing their playoff loss in Denver was last year and even with Peyton instead of Jesus Tebow playing QB, I say Pittsburgh will play with a giant hair across their asses.

New Orleans Minus 7  A lot of people are doubting the Saints without their coaches and some players, but they still have Brees and that offense.  RG3 should be a good one, but not yet and not in that stadium to start the season.

Carolina Minus 1  A huge divisional game right out of the chute.  If Cam Newton is the real deal, he gets it done here, pure and simple.  Did the Buccaneers magically upgrade their roster while I was playing golf this summer?  I don’t think so….

New York Jets Minus 1   Another big divisional game in week 1 here.  I think the Jets and the Bills are heading in opposite directions but in this one, I’ll go with Fat Rex and his band of players who put the fun back in dysfunction.  They’ll find a way to win and then pound their chests like they’ve won the superbowl.

MONDAY 9/10

Cincinnati Plus 6  I’m going out on a limb in this one, but Cincy usually plays the Ravens tough and Baltimore will be without T Sizzle and won’t have their usual pass rush disruption.  Baltimore may well win, but I see a close one here folks.
