2018 NFL Picks & Betting Odds Week 6 – Chicago Bears @ Miami Dolphins Predictions

The Chicago Bears come into this week with a 3-1 overall record and 3-1 against the spread. The Bears had the bye week last week so they have had an extra week to prepare for the Dolphins. The Bears last played on September 30th when they crushed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 48-10 at Soldier Field.

The Bears have been one of the biggest surprises so far in the 2018 season as they have been much better then expected. The big trade for defensive standout Khalil Mack just before the season started sent shock waves thru the NFL and that addition has made a huge impact on the Bears. Mack’s presence and leadership has given the Bears team and fans a much needed shot in the arm and has led them all to believe that the Bears can make a run at the NFC North Division title and make noise in the playoffs.

The Bears have had a well balanced attack so far this season offensively. The unit averages 341 yards per game and 5.5 yards per play. It is rushing for 121.5 yards per game and 4.2 yards per carry while throwing for 219.5 yards and 6.8 yards per attempt. Defensively, the Bears have been outstanding. The unit gives up just 294.5 yards per game and 5.5 yards per play.

The Miami Dolphins enter this week 3-2 overall and 3-2 against the spread. The Dolphins started the season an impressive 3-0 overall but have lost their last two games at New England 38-7 and last week at Cincinnati 27-17.

The Dolphins are looking to get back to the AFC Playoffs after making it two years ago in head coach Adam Gase’s first season with a 10-6 record. Last season was rough sledding as injuries piled up and the Dolphins limped to a 6-10 overall record. The Dolphins have started off pretty good this season but need a win this week to avoid a three game losing streak and risk falling out of first place in the AFC East.

The stats don’t look pretty for the Dolphins on both sides of the ball. The offense is only posting 288.2 yards per game on 5.8 yards per play while the defense is allowing 382.6 yards per game on 5.8 yards per play. The numbers don’t lie and it is a huge red flag. The Dolphins 3-2 record is looking like smoke and mirrors as they caught Tennessee early in a bad weather game and then beat two bad teams in the New York Jets and Oakland Raiders.

We look for the Bears to go down and handle business this Sunday. The Bears defense should feast on a struggling Dolphins offense while the Bears offense could keep rolling off of that impressive Tampa Bay game outburst with another impressive outing against a bad Dolphins defense. Lay the points.
