2017 NFL Quarterbacks Rankings – Top 5 Quarterbacks in NFL for 2017 Season

1. Tom Brady, New England Patriots Quarterback – Simply put, Tom Brady is hands down the GOAT at the NFL Quarterback position after leading the Patriots to an epic 28-3 comeback to win his 5th Lombardi Trophy and 4th Super Bowl MVP Award. To argue otherwise just shows your lack of football knowledge and/or your hatred for the man everyone outside of New England loves to hate. You don’t have to like him but you have to respect him. Brady just turned 40 years old but is coming off of a stellar 2016 season in which he threw for 3554 yards and 28 touchdowns with only 2 interceptions. That was only in 12 games played after getting suspended 4 games for the ridiculously absurd “Deflate-gate”. Brady is as clutch as it gets at the quarterback position and the ultimate team leader. He deserves the top spot.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers Quarterback – Make no mistake, Aaron Rodgers is the most talented and best quarterback in the NFL when he is playing his “A” game. Hands down. Nobody can make the plays Rodgers makes inside and outside of the pocket with pinpoint accuracy. Some of the throws this guy makes are simply insane. Case in point, the throw he made to beat Dallas in the playoffs to setup the game winning field goal. Simply incredible. Rodgers had some struggles early last season but turned it on down the stretch and ended up throwing for 4428 yards and 40 touchdowns with only 7 interceptions. Rodgers is still rightfully below Brady because Brady has won 2 rings in the last 3 seasons but Rodgers is every bit as good, if not better, because of age and mobility.

3. Derek Carr, Oakland Raiders Quarterback – The Matt Ryan fans are sure to crow about this but give us Derek Carr any day of the week over Ryan. Carr is coming off of a fabulous 2016 season that saw him throw for 3937 yards and 28 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions before getting hurt for the season in week 15. Carr did all this with a very good receiving core but definitely doesn’t have a Julio Jones out there. Carr is the best young NFL quarterback in the league right now and has helped turned the Raiders from a laughingstock to a legit Super Bowl contender. Hell, he’s even made head coach Jack Del Rio look like a very good NFL head coach and that’s hard to do. Del Rio is a clown, folks. And, unfortunately, that’s why Carr won’t be winning a Super Bowl anytime soon.

4. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints Quarterback – The 16 year NFL veteran is still playing at a high level and should continue to do so in 2017. Brees is coming off of a strong 2016 season that saw him pass for 5208 yards and 37 touchdowns with only 15 interceptions. Brees led the Saints to the NFL’s top overall offense in total yardage and 2nd in total points. Brees will have to get by this season without his top wideout as Brandin Cooks was traded to New England but he still has plenty of weapons to put together another pro bowl caliber season. Like Brady, Brees has shown no signs of slowing down and we are not going to be the ones to predict his downfall or bet against him. The guy flat out comes to play every Sunday. Got to respect it.

5. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons Quarterback – Frankly, we don’t even want to give Ryan this high of a spot but we will since he did win the NFL MVP last season and is likely to put up great numbers again with all of the talent he has around him on the Falcons offense. However, does anyone have faith in this guy when the chips are down in the playoffs and/or Super Bowl? I mean, did we not all just witness this guy trickle down his leg in the Super Bowl and fail to make a single play that would have sealed the deal? Hell, even when Julio Jones bailed him out with a sensational sideline catch to put the Falcons in field goal range late Ryan turns around and takes a sack to take them out of range. The guy is simply not a clutch quarterback and that’s what you need to win the Lombardi Trophy. Hate on it all you want Falcons fans but we’ve seen this guy gag when it counts time and time again in the postseason.
