2015 NFC North Division Predictions and Odds to Win

1. Green Bay Packers(-300 odds to win NFC North at Bovada) – The Packers will be extra motivated this 2015 NFL season after seeing Seattle snatch defeat from the jaws of victory in last year’s NFC Title Game. The Packers blew a 16-0 halftime lead and 19-7 lead with less than 5 minutes in the game while losing in overtime 28-22. League MVP and the best player in the game in our opinion, Aaron Rodgers, should be on a missi on this season to quiet his ridiculous doubters who think he underperforms in the playoffs. The 2015 Packers are loaded on offense with Rodgers running the show along with wideouts Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson plus running back Eddie Lacy and fullback John Kuhn in the backfield. The Packers were 6th in the NFL in total offense last season and that should stay the same or improve this season. Defensively, the Packers were just 15th in total defense last season but did use their 1st, 2nd and 4th rd NFL draft picks in the 2015 on defense so we feel they’ll have better depth at minimum. The Packers have the type of team that should have Super Bowl or bust expectations. 2015 Projected Record for Green Bay Packers: 14-2

2. Minnesota Vikings(+600 odds to win NFC North at Bovada) – Head coach Mike Zimmer has the Vikings headed in the right direction after going 7-9 in his first season last year with a team that was missing it’s best player, running back Adrian Peterson, for all but the season opener. Peterson has been reinstated by a federal court after being suspended by the NFL for child abuse charges and the all pro running back should be back with a vengeance. Peterson along with promising second year quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and newly acquired wideout Mike Wallace to go with returning wideout Cordarrelle Patterson should give the Vikings one of the Top 12 offenses in all of football. That will be a big improvement over last year’s 27th overall unit. Defensively, the Vikings were a solid 14th in the league last year in total defense and will be adding 1st rd pick cornerback Trae Waynes, 2nd rd pick linebacker Eric Kendricks and 3rd rd pick defensive end Danielle Hunter into the mix this season. Expect the defense to be just as solid if not improved. 2015 Projected Record for Minnesota Vikings: 9-7

3. Detroit Lions(+600 odds to win NFC North at Bovada) – The Lions went 11-5 in head coach Jim Caldwell’s first season on the job last year but they will have a hard time matching that win total this season due to the loss of all pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh in free agency. The Lions also lost starting defensive tackle Nick Fairley but will try and replace them with former Ravens all-pro Haloti Ngata and former Saint Tyrunn Walker. The fall off won’t be as drastic as some expect but there will be a drop off for a defense that was ranked 2nd in the entire NFL last season. Offensively, the Lions were a disappointing 19th in total offense last season despite having arguably the best wide receiver in the league in Calvin Johnson, another solid wideout in Golden Tate plus an above average starter in Matthew Stafford. The Lions have too much talent on offense to be in the bottom half of the league and they’ll have to improve if they want to compensate for the loss of Suh and a drop back overall on defense. 2015 Projected Record for Detroit Lions: 9-7

4. Chicago Bears(+1200 odds to win NFC North at Bovada) – The Bears regressed from a 10 win team in 2012 to 8-8 in former head coach Marc Trestman’s first season and 5-11 last season so now there’s a new sheriff in town. John Fox. Fox had a lot of success the past few seasons in Denver with Peyton Manning running the show but he’s about to find out that there is a HUGE drop off from Manning to the slug known as Jay Cutler. Cutler is the epitome of a 100 million dollar caliber arm and a 10 cent head. He’s clueless when it comes to reading defenses, being a team leader and getting players around him to perform at their best. The fact that he couldn’t get better with an offensive minded head coach in Trestman only sours our optimism that he’ll improve under a defensive minded head coach like Fox. Fox did bring over offensive coordinator Adam Gase from Denver and he will certainly help but you can’t polish a turd people and Jay Cutler is a turd. As bad as the offense will probably be the defense won’t be much better. The Bears defense was a horrid 30th in the NFL last season and they won’t be much better this season no matter how good of a defensive coach Fox is. Why? They have a severe lack of premium talent. Period. 2015 Projected Record for Chicago Bears: 5-11
