2011 Green Bay Packers NFL Odds and Predictions – Packers Super Bowl Odds and NFC Championship Futures

2011 Green Bay Packers NFL Expert Predictions, Picks, 2012 Vegas Super Bowl Odds and Schedule – Green bay Packers NFL Football Season Preview: The 2010-11 season turned out to be a pretty good one for the Green Bay Packers. After a 10-6 regular season, Green Bay caught fire in the playoffs and rode the momentum all the way to a Super Bowl victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The scary thing for the rest of the NFL is that the Packers won the title despite missing several star players on both side of the ball because of injuries. With a healthy roster entering the 2011-12 campaign, a dynasty could be in the works in Titletown.

Without question, the breakout star of the Packers’ Super Bowl run was quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Charged with the unenviable task of replacing Brett Favre, Rodgers’ deadly accurate arm and deceptive mobility proved to be enough to lead his team to the title. Along the way, he grabbed Super Bowl MVP honors by throwing for 304 yards and three scores. Rodgers has been an elite QB since getting the full-time gig, and there is no reason to expect that to change this season.

Of course it helps to be surrounded by plenty of talented weapons, and Rodgers has an arsenal at his disposal. Receiver Greg Jennings is the star of the group, but James Jones, Donald Driver, playoff hero Jordy Nelson, and rookie speedster Randall Cobb are all solid as well. Tight end Jermichael Finley returns from injury as well, and he was next to unstoppable when he was healthy last season. Add it all up, and the Packers’ fifth-rated passing attack could be even better this year. The same can be said for the running game. Ryan Grant is back from injury and should provide a big boost to a ground attack that struggled. James Starks emerged during the playoffs as well, giving the Packers depth at the position for the first time in years.

On the defensive side of the ball, Green Bay did lose defensive end Cullen Jenkins and linebacker Nick Barnett. However, there is still plenty of star power with Clay Matthews, A.J. Hawk, B.J. Raji and Charles Woodson. Woodson was injured during the Super Bowl, but the versatile playmaker will back in the starting lineup when the season begins, leading a secondary that ranked fifth last year. The Packers gave up the second-fewest points in the NFL last season, and with plenty of key pieces still in place, this unit should be among the best in the league once again.

Winning back-to-back Super Bowls isn’t easy. The Packers are going to get the best shot from every team they face this season, and that will take its toll during the course of 16 games. That being said, the Packers still have more than enough weapons to meet the challenge. An NFC North title seems like a foregone conclusion, and another deep playoff run could be in the works. With a strong core of players locked up for the next few seasons, last year’s Super Bowl may not be the last for Rodgers and company.
