Boston Celtics at New York Knicks 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions

Boston Celtics at New York Knicks 2010 NBA Preview, Odds, and Predictions: Head basketball coach Doc Rivers will lead the streaking Boston Celtics to Madison Square Gardens to take on the rejuvenated New York Knicks on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM ET on ESPN.  The Knicks have won 8 consecutive behind the stellar play of Amare Stoudemire who has set a New York record with more than 30 points in each of those victories to move to 16-9 2nd in the Atlantic behind none other than the Boston Celtics.  The Celtics have been even hotter winning 10 straight and coming in at 19-4 and in 1st in the Atlantic.  “They’re probably going to be extremely fired up for this game and I’m hoping our guys can match that intensity,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said. “Any time a game has energy, it’s great. It’s really great for us because finding ways to get them up is always nice when you don’t have to do it.”

It’s been quite a while since a Knicks game was relevant so I see the Garden rocking for tonight’s game.  “We have confidence. We know how good we can be. We see the room for improvement,” Stoudemire said. “We can get better. We have confidence that we can win. Every game is a different story. We just have to make sure we are ready to go and play smart.”  The odds makers at Bodog have the Boston Celtics a -3 1/2 point favorite on the road against the New York Knicks.

The Celtics are coming off a victory 93-62 in a rout of the Charlotte Bobcats moving to 13-9-1 ATS for the season.  Shooting guard Ray Allen led the Boston scorers with 16 points and also added 6 rebounds and a dime.  Center Kevin Garnett chipped in 13 points and 10 boards while Glen “Baby” Davis came off the bench to score 16 points and 7 rebounds.  Boston is 8-2 SU in its last 10 games when playing on the road against New York.  Vegas odds makers have the Boston Celtics +500 to win the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.

The Knicks run most recently was a victory129-125 over the Denver Nuggets at home moving to an impressive 17-7-1 ATS for the season.  Center Amare Stoudemire led 6 players in double figures with 30 points 8 rebounds and 4 assists in 40 minutes of play.  New York is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games at home and the total has gone OVER in 5 of New York’s last 6 games at home.  Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 206 points combined of the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks.

I predict a New York upset win at home.  Go Knicks!
