2011 NBA Playoffs Picks – Thunder at Nuggets Game 3 Odds and Predictions – Free NBA Picks 4-23-11

Free NBA Playoffs Picks and Odds: Game 3 Oklahoma City Thunder @ Denver Nuggets Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Predictions 4/23/11: After a sluggish first-half to commence their opening western conference round, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been sensational. They are getting contributions all over the court and the Nuggets are simply unable to contain the speed and deception of this club. It is no surprise to see that the duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook is leading this club through their two games of battle. Durant is scoring 32 ppg with a 54.1% field goal percentage, whereas Westbrook is leading the NBA playoffs with his 60% 3 point average and 89% free throw percentage. These numbers are staggering and are both on record paces for NBA playoff competition. Experience and leadership were questions for this club coming into the postseason but it seems as though, to this point, those question marks are invalid. The way this club is playing they might march right on through to the finals, but it will be imperative that they avert any losing symptoms. The only knock on this club through the regular season was that they were susceptible to losing bouts and that it took many games to reverse their fortunes. Whether it be attitude or morale, this club was prone to losing many consecutive games rather than 1 and done scenarios. The back end of the court is being held down by the combination of Serge Ibaka and Kendrick Perkins, the pair have combined to become one of the most tenacious defensive rebounders in the playoffs to this point.

The Denver Nuggets find themselves in an early hole, but they can take some good from their first two outings and attempt to tie the series at home. The Nuggets built a significant lead in the first game of the series but were unable to contain the speed of the Thunder in the second half, resulting in an opening game loss. The first half of that game saw the Nuggets force the Thunder to shoot from the outside and gave little room in the paint. They were unable to match that effort in the second half and in game two but if they can rekindle that defensive fire then they could very well compete with this club. The Nuggets certainly are no slouch offensively, they have scored 192 points through two games and have one of the higher field goal percentages among teams in this year’s playoffs. Daniel Galinari and Raymond Felton, ex-Knicks, have been explosive at times in this series and it will be imperative for them to keep plugging away offensively. NeNe Hilario is by far the most tenacious rebounder on the court for the Nuggets through two games, he is single handily keeping the Nuggets in the game from his rebounding magic.

The play tonight lies with the Nuggets(check latest NBA Odds at SBG Global Sportsbook) on their home court. Denver has been successful all year protecting their home court and they are very dominant on that court. Denver is 12-1 SU in its last 13 games at home and is 9-2-1 ATS in its last 12 games at home. The Nuggets own the league’s best shooting percentage when playing on home court and they average 102 points on that court. They will be stopping short of nothing tonight to get back in the series and I expect a well calculated and concerted effort on the part of all Denver shooters. George Karl has a significant track record of overcoming adversity and clawing back into series’, I believe the Nuggets can take some good from the first two games and exert their will on home court. Oklahoma City is 1-7 SU in its last 8 games when playing on the road against Denver, including a 112-107 loss back on January 19th. We will consider the Nuggets getting back into this western conference battle with a dominant victory at the Pepsi Center tonight. Cheers!
