2015 US Cellular 250 Odds, Free Picks & Predictions: Favorites & Contenders to Win US Cellular 250

2015 US Cellular 250 Odds and Predictions2015 US Cellular 250 Odds, Free Picks & Predictions – Favorites & Contenders to Win US Cellular 250: While the Cup Series will be busy making a return trip to Pocono Raceway, the Xfinity Series will make its second stop of the year at Iowa Speedway. The 7/8-mile oval is one of the newer tracks in the schedule, and while it somewhat resembles Richmond International Raceway, Iowa is slightly larger and holds the distinction of being the biggest short track on the schedule.

Since the Cup Series doesn’t race at Iowa, it is no surprise that there are no Cup Series regulars in the field this weekend. As a result, the Xfinity Series regulars understand that this is a race that they need to take advantage of, and many drivers that have to settle for just a top-10 finish most weekends will have a real chance of reaching victory lane in Saturday’s US Cellular 250. With that in mind, here is a closer look at the frontrunners for this weekend’s race at Iowa, as well as some surprise contenders.

The Favorites

Although he gave away a win last weekend at Indianapolis, Ryan Blaney should be right back in the mix for a victory this weekend. In six starts in the Xfinity Series this year, he has five top-10s and four top-five finishes, including three second-place runs. He has also finished in the top 10 in all four of his starts at Iowa, logging back-to-back top-five finishes.

He made his first-ever start at Iowa earlier this year, and Erik Jones didn’t disappoint. He started on the pole and finished third, recording one of his eight top-five finishes this year in the Xfinity Series. More importantly, Jones has also won two races in 2015, tying him for the most among series regulars.

While he is still looking for a win at Iowa, Chase Elliott keeps inching closer to victory lane. He has finished eighth or better in all three starts at the track, compiling a 4.7 average finish. Earlier this year, Elliott led a race-high 114 laps on his way to a career-best second-place finish at Iowa.

The Contenders

It hasn’t been the best year for Elliott Sadler, but he always seems to find a way to contend at Iowa. He has made nine starts at the track, and he has never finished outside the top 10 while compiling a 5.1 average finish. Sadler has logged six top-five finishes in his nine starts, including a win and four top-three efforts.

After two mediocre runs at Iowa, Chris Buescher broke out in a big way earlier this year when he went to victory lane at the track. Not only did he win, but his 94 laps led were the second most of any driver, so he didn’t exactly get lucky. After his impressive showing a few months ago, a season sweep at Iowa seems like a real possibility.

Not only has Darrell Wallace Jr. been solid in every start he has made at Iowa, but he has also been improving in every start. He has never finished outside the top 10 at the track, and earlier this year, he logged a career-best sixth-place finish. If the trend continues, Wallace should be a serious threat for the win this weekend.

The Sleeper

After a solid but unspectacular start to the season, Daniel Suarez seems to be putting it all together. Driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, he has the luxury of having great equipment at his disposal. Meanwhile, he has reeled off three straight top-five finishes heading into a non-companion race that won’t have any Cup regulars in the field.
