2015-Furious-7-300-Odds-Free-Picks-Predictions2015 Furious 7 300 Odds, Free Picks & Predictions: Favorites, Contenders and Sleepers: The Chase begins for the Sprint Cup Series this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway, and the XFINITY Series is also in town for a companion event at the 1.5-mile oval. Just because the playoffs are in full swing on the Cup side doesn’t mean that the Cup drivers are staying away from the XFINITY Series, and many drivers like the extra seat time as they try to gain an edge on the competition. As a result, several big names are pulling double duty, including a couple of title contenders.

One driver that won’t be in the field is Erik Jones, who won the first race at Chicagoland this season while subbing for the injured Kyle Busch. However, it is important to note that the first XFINITY event at the track was a stand-alone event, and this weekend’s field is a lot tougher than the first time the series visited the track.

The Favorites

The last three times Kyle Busch was in an XFINITY Series race at Chicagoland, he has finished no worse than third. Overall, he is a three-time winner at the track, and in 11 starts, he has logged seven top-five finishes, including five finishes of either first or second. The all-time series leader in wins should have a great chance of adding to his total Saturday.

Although he has made just one start at Chicagoland in the XFINITY Series since 2008, Matt Kenseth is still one of the drivers to beat this weekend. Not only did he win the Cup race at the track in 2013, but he has finished second in two of his three XFINTIY Series starts in 2015. Kenseth is one of the top drivers in NASCAR today, and arguably the most accomplished driver in the field.

The sample size is small, but Kyle Larson seems to have a really good feel for Chicagoland. In his last two XFINTIY Series starts here, he has finished third and second. Larson also finished third in his Cup Series debut at the track last season. Needless to say, he is a safe bet to fighting for the win this weekend.

While he doesn’t make a lot of starts in the XFINITY Series, Kasey Kahne is usually a major factor when he does get behind the wheel. In fact, he has finished in the top five in three of his four starts in the series this season, and he finished fourth in his last XFINITY Series starts at Chicagoland in 2014.

The Contenders

He finished second at Chicagoland earlier this year, and Ryan Blaney’s 5.0 average finish at the track is the best of any driver in the field. In three starts, he has never finished outside the top 10, and he has cracked the top five in back-to-back starts. If someone is going to topple the Cup Series regulars in the field, it could be Blaney.

Fresh off a win at Richmond, defending series champ Chase Elliott could be primed for a hot streak. A late spin resulted in a 14th-place finish here earlier this season, but Elliott won at Chicagoland in his track debut in 2014. Armed with the confidence of a victory last weekend, don’t be surprised if Elliott is in contention once again.

He enters the race as the point leader, and Chris Buescher could certainly extend his advantage this weekend. After all, he finished a career-best fifth at Chicagoland earlier this year, and in three starts at the track, he has compiled an 8.3 average finish. At the very least, he should be within striking distance of the front Saturday.

Sleepers Special

Although he hasn’t won a race in 2015, Ty Dillon always seems to be running near the front. He enters Saturday’s race third in the standings, and in three starts at Chicagoland, he has yet to finish outside the top 10. Dillon could surprise this weekend.
