2011 U.S. Cellular 250 Odds, Free Picks and Predictions – Favorites to Win and Drivers to Watch

2011 U.S. Cellular 250 Odds, Predictions, Betting Tips and Free Picks – Favorites and Lines to Win the U.S. Cellular 250: NASCAR betting odds to win the 2011 U.S. Cellular 250 this Saturday, August 6th at at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa have been posted at all the major Las Vegas and best online sportsbooks and the online bookies with Carl Edwards having been installed as the +150 favorite to win the 2011 U.S. Cellular 250.

The Nationwide Series will make two trips to Iowa Speedway for the first time in 2011, but very few Cup Series regulars will be making the return trip this weekend. Once again, the Nationwide regulars have a golden opportunity to notch a rare victory without Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick and others getting in the way. The fact that this is just the third race at Iowa should level the playing field as well, creating the perfect atmosphere for an upset.

Last season, Kyle Busch was in the field, and he let everyone else know it. He led 209 of the 250 laps on his way to a win in the inaugural Nationwide event at Iowa. Kevin Harvick and pole-sitter Trevor Bayne were the only other drivers to lead laps that afternoon. In the closing laps, it was clear that Busch was in a class by himself.

Earlier this season, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. bested two of the biggest names in the series to score his first career Nationwide win. With former champions Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski breathing down his neck, Stenhouse Jr. withstood the charge and earned the win. Fellow Nationwide regular Reed Sorenson led a race-high 77 laps and finished fourth.

The Favorites – 2011 U.S. Cellular 250 Odds, Predictions and Free Picks

He hasn’t won at Iowa, but Brad Keselowski’s 2.7 average finish at the track is tops among drivers that have competed in both events since the track joined the schedule. He has finished fourth and third in his two starts, and he led 30 laps at Iowa earlier this year. The defending series champ is coming off a win last weekend, and he could ride the momentum to back-to-back wins.

After a somewhat disappointing 10th-place finish in his Iowa debut, Carl Edwards finished second at the track earlier this year. With a relatively weak field, his chances of winning only increase this weekend. Edwards’ five victories in 2011 are as many as the rest of the drivers in this weekend’s field combined.

Considering he is gunning for a season sweep this weekend, it is tough to ignore Ricky Stenhouse Jr. After all, he held off Edwards and Keselowski on his way to the victory, and those two drivers should be his main competition once again. Stenhouse Jr. has already shown he can compete with the big boys, and the confidence should only help his chances.

Although he crashed in his Iowa debut, Reed Sorenson flexed some muscle at the track earlier this year. He led more laps than any other driver on his way to a fourth-place finish. If he can just figure out how to keep the car handling in the late stages of the race, Sorenson should be in the mix for the win.

Elliot Sadler made his Iowa debut earlier this season, and he didn’t waste time making an impact. He delivered a solid fifth-place finish, and the four drivers that beat him were all making their second start at the track. With a little experience under his belt, Sadler should even better this weekend. He might even be good enough to win.

He was forced to miss this year’s first trip to Iowa dealing with a medical issue, but Trevor Bayne was very impressive in his track debut last season. He sat on the pole and went on to finish fifth. Bayne was the second-best Nationwide regular in that event, and two of the drivers that finished ahead of him won’t be in the field this weekend.

A top-five finish has eluded Justin Allgaier at Iowa thus far, but he has been solid in both his starts at the track. He has finished eighth both starts, and he has already shown in 2011 that he can get to Victory Lane. Allgaier will have to make a bit of a jump to contend for the win, but he is certainly talented enough to do it.

Big Names to Avoid – 2011 U.S. Cellular 250 Betting Odds, Predictions and Free NASCAR Picks

Joe Gibbs Racing driver Drew Herring is being heralded as a future star, but he is still very inexperienced when it comes to facing elite competition. Not to mention the fact that he has finished outside the top 10 in both career starts at Iowa. Herring has been better lately, and he may even sneak into the top 10. That being said, he isn’t ready to win races yet.

Even though he is driving for the No. 18 team that has won six times in 2011, Michael McDowell won’t find winning easy this weekend. After all, he has been unable to crack the top five in either start at Iowa. McDowell did finish seventh at the track earlier this year, but he is one of several drivers that have learned that driving Kyle Busch’s car doesn’t guarantee a trip to Victory Lane.
