Blue Jays @ Royals Odds, Lines, Free Tips and Predictions – Free MLB Picks 6-7-11

Free MLB Picks, Tips and Odds: Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox Favorite, Moneyline, Total and Expert Predictions 6/7/11: The Toronto Blue Jays were not able to outlast the Kansas City Royals in 11 innings last night, so they will attempt to even the four game set tonight. Jose Bautista had a rare off night as the arguable MVP of the league went 0-4 with two strikeouts. He seemed to be flustered by how the Royals pitchers were approaching him in that they were giving in nothing inside the box and most of the pitches were low and away. Brendan Morrow provided a solid performance on the mound last night but was not afforded the run support needed for the victory. He finally showed that his velocity might be on the upside as he was getting his fastball into the low 90’s and he was mixing it up with his deceptive cutter. Toronto will be hinging any aspirations they have of October ball on Morrow finding his game once again. Frank Francisco’s days in Toronto might be numbered as the contested closer blew another game for the black and blue. The 240 pounder is just not the same pitcher as he was two seasons ago, he is getting behind in counts and his breaking ball is being torched by all hitters. On another note, the Toronto Blue Jays took, arguably, the most talented pitcher in the draft last night in Tyler Beede. The 18 year old has amazed scouts over the last two years with his intense fastball and big league stamina, he already is 8-0 in high school ball with one perfect game. General manager Alex Anthopolous will know have to put on his sales attire as he will need to sell the big leagues and the Toronto Blue Jays to Beede who has already committed to attend Vanderbilt University.

Kansas City flexed their muscle and showed their agility in last night’s 11 inning walk-off win. Starting slow out of the gates has come to be a trait of Royals baseball and anyone that follows this club knows they have the inherent ability to get themselves back in contests. The Royals were able to last 11 innings with one of the games most powerful offenses due to excellent defensive positioning and strong mound presence. The Royals pitchers never found themselves in jams and they used speed and deceptiveness to avert the Jays long balls. The Royals most powerful offensive stout in Eric Hosmer delivered on a one out single to left to finish the contest in the eleventh. Hosmer has been a godsend for the Royals as he is in the top 10 for RBI and OBP, he also comes at an extremely affordable price to the Royals. It is players like Hosmer that give hope to clubs that have small cap space and limited marketing ability for big name free agents. Players like Hosmer come at a low cost, but their love for the game of baseball and their drive to exceed makes them extremely viable assets.

Tonight we will recommend a play on the Kansas City Royals(Check latest odds and lines at BetGuardian Sportsbook) in game two of this four game set. The Royals proved last night that they have the pitching and defense needed to hinder a strong offensive club, such as the Blue Jays. They were prepared defensively for each batter and their pitching against each Jay hitter was technically sound. Kansas City has long been a baseball club that has doused themselves into scouting reports and they believe the best defense is one that knows the offense. The Royals send the unproven and roughed up Vince Mazzaro to the mound tonight, a pitcher who will be looking to rebound after his horrendous debut last week. Mazzaro owns a 22.74 ERA over 5 innings of work as he was torched for 14 hits and 7 runs. He is a kid that has a ton of upside and will one day be a high caliber performer. The Jays will counter with their young stud in Kyle Drabek, who also needs a strong performance to rebound from a couple weeks of ineptness. Drabek’s last quality outing came almost one month ago against the Boston Red Sox and he has since fallen into a hole of mediocrity. He is main issue is that he is giving up way too many free bases and teams are capitalizing with timely hits when these men are aboard. Toronto has never fared well in the state of Missouri and something about Kaufman stadium gets this team flustered and tight. We will consider the K.C. Royals outdueling the Jays for a second consecutive night in what should be an offensive display on the part of both clubs. Cheers!
