2017 World Series Odds & Predictions – Top 3 Favorites & Odds to Win World Series

Chicago Cubs(+375 odds to win 2017 World Series) – General manager Theo Epstein has put together quite a team and farm system for the Cubs and we see no reason to believe that the Cubs shouldn’t be the favorites to win the World Series again this season. It’s awfully tough to find a hole or weakness on the Cubs major league roster despite losing some good players in the offseason including closer Aroldis Chapman. Chapman returned to the Yankees in a big free agent signing but Epstein found another top shelf replacement in closer Wade Davis that they acquired in a trade with the KC Royals. The Cubs bullpen should once again be one of the best in the league and their starting rotation is second to none with Jon Lester, Jake Arrieta, John Lackey and Kyle Hendricks leading the way. The Cubs everyday lineup should swing the bats as well as anyone in the league too with Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo leading the way. All in all, we expect another triple digit win season for the Cubs and another appearance in the Fall Classic.

Boston Red Sox(+450 odds to win 2017 World Series) – The Boston Red Sox say goodbye to legend David Ortiz who retired after last season but they should once again be back in the American League playoffs as AL East Champions thanks to a great offseason that saw them trade for stud lefthanded pitcher Chris Sale from the Chicago White Sox. Sale will help give the Red Sox one of the best rotations in all of baseball along with David Price and Rick Porcello while the everyday lineup should be potent behind Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts. We look for a big breakout season from left fielder Andrew Benintendi who has put on 20 pounds of muscle and looks to improve upon his .295 average that he had in 34 games last year as a rookie. The Red Sox still need to figure out the back end of their rotation and hope Pablo Sandoval can return at third base and give them another potent bat along with some solid defense but their question marks can be figured out quite easily. Look for the Red Sox to get back to the postseason and erase the bad taste they have from getting swept by the Cleveland Indians last fall.

Los Angeles Dodgers(+1250 odds to win 2017 World Series) – The Los Angeles Dodgers have been knocking on the doorstep to get back to the World Series for years now it seems and the 2017 edition of the Dodgers looks to provide another chance. The Dodgers will once again be led by a superb pitching staff that features Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill, Kenta Maeda and Julio Urias. Pitching has never been an issue for the Dodgers but can the bat wake up and help get the Dodgers to the next level this season? The jury is out. The Dodgers still need to find a capable second baseman as Enrique Hernandez currently stands atop the depth chart and that’s not good enough. Other than that, the Dodgers have enough talent elsewhere to field a formidable everyday lineup and we look for even bigger things from 2016 NL Rookie of the Year Corey Seager. The talented shortstop blasted 26 home runs last year and played above average defense and if he can grow more as player this season then the Dodgers should be in great shape to battle the Cubs for the Pennant.
