Oklahoma State Cowboys at Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns 2010 NCAAF Week 6 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Oklahoma State Cowboys at Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns 2010 NCAAF Week 6 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  The Oklahoma State Cowboys are 5-0 against the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns and look to remain perfect against the Sun Belt Conference School as they go on the road Friday night at 9:30 PM ET on ESPN2.  The Cowboys gave their first national TV audience their money’s worth last Thursday on ESPN with a thriller against Texas A&M winning 38-35 in their Big 12 opener at home.  “We did ESPN some justice on the ratings,” Head football coach Mike Gundy said. “It was quite a game.”

The Cajuns are hoping to duplicate last year’s win when they upset the Big 12’s Kansas State 17-15.  Injuries could be a problem for both clubs as the Cajuns running back Kevis Streeter hurt his knee; tackle Jonathan Decoster injured his ankle, and tight end Ladarius Green was already out with ankle injury.  Victor Johnson the Cowboys free safety hurt his left knee and is out indefinitely.  Vegas odds makers have the Oklahoma State Cowboys a -24 point favorite on the road against the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.

The Cowboys remained undefeated after that thriller last Thursday and haven’t started better since going 7-0 two years ago.  Quarterback Brandon Weeden rebounded from a sloppy first half where he fumbled and threw two interceptions to complete 28 of 42 for 284 yards and two touchdowns hitting Justin Blackmon 10 times for 127 yards and a touchdown.  “This game is not going to be perfect all the time,” said Weeden, who has 13 TD passes. “You can’t run perfect plays every time. You’re not going to make good decisions every time. You’ve just got to live with it, put it behind you and move on to the next play.”  Vegas odds makers have the Oklahoma State Cowboys +5000 odds to win the 2011 BCS National Championship.

The Cajuns are 2-2 and won their most recent game 28-27 at home against North Texas leaving them also 2-2 against the spread.  Quarterback Chris Masson completed 18 for 32 for 310 yards and 2 touchdowns connecting with Aaron Spikes 4 times for 99 yards and an 82 yard touchdown.  Louisiana-Lafayette is 2-4 ATS in its last 6 games at home and the total has gone OVER in 4 of Louisiana-Lafayette’s last 6 games at home.  Odds makers at BookMaker have the over/under for the total score at 62 points combined of the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.

I predict the Cajuns to cover at home! Who doesn’t like to say GO Ragin’ Cajuns! Note: Rich Fritz is a Blog Writer on NSAwins.com and not a pro handicapper.
