Nebraska Cornhuskers at Oklahoma State Cowboys 2010 NCAAF Week 8 Odds, Preview, Predictions

Nebraska Cornhuskers at Oklahoma State Cowboys 2010 NCAAF Week 8 Odds, Preview, and Predictions:  Head football coach Bo Pelini will try to get his No. 14 Nebraska Cornhuskers to rebound with a win when they travel to Stillwater to take on the No. 13 undefeated Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday at 3:30 PM ET at Boone Pickens Stadium on ABC.  The Cornhuskers are 5-1, 1-1 3rd in the Big 12 North while the Cowboys are 6-0, 2-0 for 1st in the Big 12 South and a Big 12 Championship may be on the line if the Huskers were to lose.  Nebraska is going for its 7th consecutive road win while Oklahoma State is trying to win its 6th straight game at home, one of those streaks must end.  “I honestly think there’s less distraction on the road, whatever it may be,” Pelini said. “We’re looking into why that is and trying to think outside the box a little bit about maybe handling home games a little bit differently.”  Vegas odds makers have the Nebraska Cornhuskers a -5 1/2 point favorite on the road against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

The Cornhuskers are coming off their lone loss of the season 20-13 at home to Texas and were held to 202 yards of offense, far below their nearly 500 yard average.  Heisman candidate freshman quarterback Taylor Martinez completed just 4 of 12 passes for 63 yards and ran 13 times for just 21 yards all way below his previously stellar averages.  You can bet Oklahoma State is watching that video carefully to see how Texas was so successful defensively.  The Huskers are just 2-3 ATS this season and Nebraska is 1-5 ATS in its last 6 games when playing Oklahoma State.  Vegas odds makers have Taylor Martinez at +1400 odds to win the Heisman Trophy.

Oklahoma State is coming off a big win 31-17 over Texas Tech last week.  Quarterback Brandon Weeden connected on 24 of 35 passes for 356 yards a touchdown and 2 picks hitting Justin Blackmon 10 times for 207 yards and a 62 yard TD pass.  Running back Kendall Hunter carried the ball 25 times for 130 yards and a score.  The Cowboys are 5-1 ATS and the total has gone OVER in 5 of Oklahoma State’s last 6 games at home.  Odds makers at Bodog have the over/under for the total score at 60 points combined of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Oklahoma State Cowboys.
