The Bobcats finished the season with a dominant 41-6 win over UAB in the Bahamas Bowl to help spring board them into the 2018 season. The Bobcats will be looking to win the school’s 1st MAC Football Championship since 1968 this season and expectations are high. MAC West Division Prediction

1. No Illinois Huskies – Head coach Rod Carey is now 44-25 overall after 5 plus seasons as the Huskies coach and is coming off of a solid 2017 season. The Huskies finished 8-5 overall including 6-2 in the MAC last season and ended up going to the Quick Lane Bowl where they lost 36-14 to Duke. Carey welcomes back 14 starters from last season’s team including 8 starters on an offense that finished just 60th nationally in scoring last season at 28.9 ppg. Sophomore quarterback Marcus Childers is back to lead the unit and he should be improved. Childers finished with 1674 yards passing and 16 touchdowns last season along with 473 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns in 9 starts after starting the season 3rd on the depth chart. Childers was named the 2017 MAC Freshman of the Year and we look for big things from him this season. Defensively, the Huskies have 6 starters back on a unit that was a stout 32nd nationally in points allowed at 22 ppg. The defense has the talent to be just as solid this season. 2018 Projection 8-5, 7-1 MAC
