Odds to Win the 2015 Big Ten Football Championship and Big Ten East/West Division Predictions

Big Ten East Division Prediction

1. Ohio State Buckeyes(-180 odds to win Big Ten) – Head coach Urban Meyer has his defending National Champion Buckeyes in great position to make a run at a repeat this season as he welcomes back a loaded roster including 14 returning starters. The Buckeyes welcome back 7 returning starters on both sides of the ball and the offense especially is loaded. The offense has 2015 Heisman Trophy favorite running back Ezekiel Elliot back in the fold for his junior season and there is simply no reason why he shouldn’t rush for over 2000 yards if he stays healthy. The Buckeyes are loaded everywhere on offense including a sensational offensive line but the real strength is the insane depth at quarterback. Meyer has three absolute studs to choose from in Cardale Jones, J.T. Barrett and Braxton Miller and it would be an absolute embrassment if Ohio State does not field the #1 offense in the nation this season. Look for the Buckeyes to roll thru the regular season and Big Ten Championship undefeated and get back into the College Football Playoff. Our money is on the Ohio State Buckeyes being the #1 team in the nation when it’s all said and done and repeating as National Champions. 2015 Projection 13-0, 8-0 Big Ten

Big Ten West Division Prediction

1. Nebraska Cornhuskers(+1800 odds to win Big Ten) – New Nebraska head coach Mike Riley will look to make a splash in first season on the job in Lincoln this season with 12 returning starters. The Huskers have 6 returning starters on both side of the ball from last year’s 9-4 team that went 5-3 in the Big Ten. The offense should be one of the top units in the Big Ten and in the nation again although they will have to adjust to Riley’s newly installed pro-style offense that will take some getting used to from retuning starting quarterback Tommy Armstrong who did rush for 705 yards on 145 attempts last season. The bet here is Armstrong should adjust fine and scoring points will not be a concern for the Huskers this season. The defense was only rated the 51st overall in the nation last season but the retuning players are excited to play in new defensive coordinator Mark Banker’s system as he should allow them to play more loose and take more aggressive chances than they were allowed under former Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini. 2015 Projection 9-4, 6-2 Big Ten

2015 Big Ten Football Championship Game

Ohio State Buckeyes vs Nebraska Cornhuskers – These two teams don’t match up in the 2015 regular season and they did not matchup in Ohio State’s National Championship run last season either. The talent gap between these two teams is a mismatch in every facet so don’t expect this game to be close if these are in fact the two teams that reach the Big Ten title game. Ohio State should be in position to simply win and get in the College Football Playoff so they will not need to win this game big with style points like they had to last season in the Big Ten Championship game against Wisconsin who they smashed 59-0. Ohio State 45 Nebraska 20
