Odds to Win the 2015 ACC Football Championship and ACC Atlantic/Coastal Divisions

ACC Atlantic Division Prediction

1. Florida State Seminoles(+250 odds to win ACC) – Head coach Jimbo Fisher welcomes back 10 returning starters(3 on offense, 7 on defense) from last season’s team that went 13-1 overall including 8-0 in ACC play. Fisher will have to find a suitable replacement for departed star quarterback Jameis Winston and the jury is still out on his probable replacement in junior Sean Maguire. However, Fisher should get help this season from a much improved FSU defense that was a disappointing 61st overall in the nation last season. The FSU defense should be much better this year with a lot of returning talent plus incoming talent that should improve the Noles’ terrible pass rush that only put up 17 sacks last season. FSU does have arguably it’s three toughest games on it’s schedule on the road(at Clemson, at Georgia Tech, at Florida) but they should find a way to win at least 10 games before the ACC Title Game and win the ACC again with an outside chance of getting back to the College Football Playoff.
2015 Projection 11-2, 6-2 ACC

ACC Coastal Division Prediction

1. Virginia Tech Hokies(+1000 odds to win ACC) – The Hokies finished the 2014 season a disappointing 7-6 overall but did end the season on a high note by winning their last regular season game against Virginia 24-20 and their Military Bowl game against Cincinnati 33-17. Head coach Frank Beamer has 16 returning starters coming back for the 2015 season with 8 apiece on offense and defense. The Hokies are in great shape to rebound nicely from a unusually mediocre season last year and show the nation why they were talented enough to beat the National Champion Ohio State Buckeyes 35-21 on the road in Columbus, Ohio last season. The defense should once again be one of the nation’s best units and improve upon their 21st total defense ranking last year while the offense should definitely be much improved from the unit that was 96th overall in the country last season. 2015 Projection 10-3, 6-2 ACC

Rest of ACC Coastal Division Predictions for 2015 Season

2015 ACC Football Championship Game

Florida State Seminoles vs Virginia Tech Hokies – These two teams don’t play each other in the regular season this year so if they match up in the ACC Championship Game it will be the first meeting of the season. And we expect that to happen and it should be a helluva game. Both teams’ strengths should be their defense this season so we expect this to be a low scoring defensive battle. Ultimately, we’ll give the edge to FSU due to a more consistent kicker and big game experience. Florida State 19 Virginia Tech 17
