2011 Conference USA Football Odds, Predictions and Free Picks – Odds to Win 2011 CUSA Football Championship

2011 Conference USA Football Odds, Free Picks and Expert Predictions – Conference USA Championship Vegas Odds and Vegas Betting Lines: Las Vegas oddsmakers have posted the preseason odds to win the 2011 Conference USA College Football Championship and they are now out and posted LIVE on NSAwins.com and vegas linemakers have installed Houston Cougars the +175 favorite to win the 2011 Conference USA College Football Conference Championship followed by Southern Miss and Central Florida at +250 odds each.

Although Conference USA isn’t known as one of the powerhouses nationally, it did produce two top 25 teams in the final poll of 2010-11. In fact, C-USA has actually produced numerous bowl-eligible and bowl-winning programs over the last decade. The lack of a dominant national power has kept the conference under the radar, but the teams in C-USA are anything but pushovers. Overlooked or not, the conference should pull off a few eye-opening upsets in 2011-12 as it continues to improve its top-to-bottom competitiveness.

2011 Conference USA Football Odds, Predictions and Preview – The Favorites

After knocking off Georgia in their bowl game, the UCF Knights served notice that they are the real deal even if they play in a small conference. George O’Leary’s bunch should be in for another strong season in 2011-12 as a load of talent on offense returns. Quarterback Jeffrey Godfrey was one of the top freshman signal callers in the nation last year, and he should only be better in his sophomore campaign. With an experienced offensive line and his top running backs in the mix as well, the Knights’ offense should put up plenty of points. Couple that with a defense that has led the conference since 2008, and UCF should have a shot a C-USA title and a bowl game.

There is a lot to love about the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in 2011-12. The team finished last season on a seven-game winning streak, and Tulsa has reached double-digit wins in three of the last four seasons. The Golden Hurricane welcomes back 18 starters from a year ago, including defending conference Player of the Year G.J. Kinne. With Kinne under center and wide receiver Damaris Johnson attempting to lead the nation in total yardage for a third straight year, Tulsa should have a great shot at winning C-USA and heading to a solid bowl game.

2011 Conference USA Football Odds, Predictions and Preview – Potential Sleepers

When you think of consistency, the Southern Miss program doesn’t often come to mind. However, the Golden Eagles have posted 17 consecutive winning seasons and have made nine straight bowl game appearances. Southern Miss will likely put up plenty of points in 2011-12 led by QB Austin Davis. The Golden Eagles topped 30 points in all but two games last year, and a similar performance should be in the works. Southern Miss may not win the conference crown, but the Golden Eagles will make a bowl game.

The Houston Cougars struggled in 2010-11, but a big reason for the problems was an injury to star QB Case Keenum. However, the NCAA granted Keenum another year of eligibility, and he will look to guide the Cougars to their seventh winning season in the last eight years. Keenum’s top receiver and running back will be back this year as well, and it was just last season that Keenum had Heisman buzz before the year began. With a pro-caliber quarterback at the helm, Houston will be back in a bowl game this year. Only one opponent on their schedule had a winning record last season, which means a surprise conference title isn’t out of the question either.

2011 Conference USA Football Odds, Predictions and Preview – Team to Avoid

If you add up all the wins for the Memphis Tigers the last two years, you get a grand total of three. The Tigers won just a single game last season, and the future doesn’t look much brighter. Their freshman starting QB from last season transferred schools, and Memphis lost a majority of their other starters as well. It is going to be another long year for the Tigers as one of the bottom feeders in C-USA.
