2016 ACC Tournament Odds, Free Picks & Predictions: Top 3 Favorites

Virginia Cavaliers(26-4 overall, 13-5 ACC) – The Virginia Cavaliers enter the 2016 ACC Tournament as the 4th ranked team in the nation and 2nd in the RPI Index. The Cavs have a great opportunity to secure a #1 seed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament if they can win the 2016 ACC Tournament and they certainly have the talent to do so. The Cavs have shown the ability to play and beat anyone in the nation and have a remarkable 7-2 record against RPI Top 25 teams. Virginia has beaten the likes of West Virginia, Villanova and Califoria in non-conference play and went 4-2 against the top 4 teams in the ACC they played in North Carolina, Miami-Fl, Duke and Louisville. At +150 odds, Virginia doesn’t represent the best paying odds to win the ACC Tournament but they clearly are the favorite to do so.

Miami-Fl Hurricanes(24-6 overall, 13-5 ACC) – Miami-Fl Hurricanes head coach Jim Larrañaga has arguably his most talented team since taking over in South Florida as coach. The Hurricanes enter the ACC Tournament as the 11th ranked team in the nation and 7th in the RPI. The Hurricanes have an outside chance at getting a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament if they can win the ACC Tournament but should be a #3 seed at worst no matter what happens this week. The Hurricanes are 15-3 versus RPI Top 100 teams including 8-2 versus RPI Top 50 teams with signature wins over Utah, Duke, Virginia and Louisville. At +350 odds, the Hurricanes present tremendous value this week as a bet to win the ACC Tournament.

North Carolina Tar Heels(25-6 overall, 14-4 ACC) – Head coach Roy Williams was awfully proud of his team this past weekend as they went into Cameron Indoor Stadium and defeated their arch rivals, Duke, to win the ACC Regular Season Championship outright. The Heels enter the ACC Tournament as the #1 seed and ranked 7th nationally and 8th in the RPI Index. Much like Virginia and Miami-Fl, North Carolina will most likely secure a #1 seed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament if it can run the table this week and add the ACC Tournament Title to go along with it’s regular season trophy. The Tar Heels are an underwhelming 3-5 versus RPI Top 50 teams so showing it can beat some of the nation’s top teams on a neutral court this week will go a long ways towards quieting some of UNC’s critics. At +250 odds, North Carolina presents solid but not great odds from a bettor’s view point to win the ACC Tournament.
