New York Jets at New England Patriots 2011 NFL Playoff Predictions, Odds, and Picks: Head football coach Rex Ryan will have his feet to the fire as his Jets head to Gillette Stadium to take on head football coach Bill Belichick and his New England Patriots for the divisional round of the NFL playoffs on CBS Sports at 4:30 PM ET. “This is about (Patriots coach) Bill Belichick vs. Rex Ryan,” Ryan said Monday. “There’s no question. It’s personal. It’s about him against myself, and that’s what it’s going to come down to. We have to play fast and physical,” Ryan said. “That doesn’t mean we’re going to dummy it up. If you dummy it up against them, you’ll get crushed.” Good thing Rex never puts his foot in his mouth! “Rex does a great job with his team. I’m just trying to coach mine,” Belichick said. “I’m not really worried about what anybody else is doing.” The odds makers at SBG Global have the New England Patriots -10 point favorites at home against the New York Jets.
The Patriots finished the regular season at 14-2 the best record in the NFL and beat down the Dolphins 38-7 to finish the season as 10-5-1 ATS quite impressive! Quarterback Tom Brady completed just 10 of 16 passes for 199 yards and 2 touchdowns before giving way to Brian who? Hoyer who completed 7 of 13 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. Brady is more than just a pretty boy! Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie gave him a few choice words. “I’ve been called worse,” he said. “I’m sure there’s a long list of people who feel that way. He’s a good player,” Brady said. “(Jets cornerback Darrelle) Revis is a great player. They have a great secondary and they are one of the best defenses we face. We’re going to spend a lot of time preparing for them. … The way they shut down the Colts offense is pretty impressive because we know how good that offense is.” Vegas odds makers have the New England Patriots as +250 odds to win the 2011 Super Bowl.
The Jets finished the season 11-5 good enough for 2nd in the AFC East and a road playoff game at Indy they won 17-16 and finishing the season at 9-7 ATS. The reward is a trip to New England who they split the season series with but got pounded in the last meeting. Mark Sanchez completed 18 of 31 passes for 189 yards and a pick and will have to play better than that to beat the Pats. The total has gone OVER in 9 of the NY Jets last 10 games on the road. Vegas odds makers have the over/under for the total score at 44 points combined of the New York Jets at New England Patriots.
I predict a Pats victory but not cover…take the points!
