New York Plus 2.5-The Vegas bookmakers made the Pats a 3 pt. favorite and it has gone down to 2.5 pts.  Many experts and talking heads feel the Giants should be favored and the majority are picking them to win.  I think the G-Men are being overvalued a little and don’t for a minute think they will dominate in this one.  I would be picking New England if Gronkowski was completely healthy, but while he will play, he won’t have his usual explosiveness, and I trust NY’s pass rush more than NE’s.  So….I’ll go with New York plus 2.5…

Under 54 points – I don’t see a shootout and think it will be a 23-20 type of game…these teams know each other and should be able to slow each other down.

Baltimore Plus 7 – New England was impressive on both sides of the ball against Denver.  But Baltimore is not Denver…  I anticipate NE having more difficulty scoring and also the Ravens moving the ball on NE’s defense..  Baltimore will have their hands full with the NE offense, but will not be intimidated on the road and I think this will be a close game.

New York Plus 2.5 – Who’s hotter than the G-Men????  NO-body!!!!  I give SF a puncher’s chance here because they do have a good defense, but if NY can shut down Green Bay’s offense, they should stop SF’s without too much problem.  Can Alex Smith do it two weeks in a row?  He’ll have to if they want to get to the big game.

Look, I’m no fan of the Jets and the Sanchise, but all this shit he’s been taking is beyond belief…#1 if you are a Jet and you want to rip the guy, either say it to his face or put your name on the quote.  #2 to place all the blame for the Jets’ problems on Sanchez is to give a pass to a defensive meltdown and an inability to run the ball…Sanchez was good enough when they beat the Colts and Pats in the playoffs and went to 2 straight conference title games, but now its his fault alone?  I place the blame on Fat Rex, who has no effing control over the tools on his roster.

Jeff Fisher finally picks the Rams…I just don’t get the fact that teams are ball-washing the guy to run their teams…  Fact of the matter is that old Porn-Stache is pretty mediocre if you ask me.

Jacksonville names Mike Full-of-Malarkey as head coach.  What?  You mean that awesome offensive display that Atlanta put on in NY gets overlooked?  What has this guy ever done?  And don’t get me started on this Matty Ice guy….can you say over-rated?  When you show up in a playoff game, call me.

SATURDAY 1/14

New Orleans Minus 3 – The Saints are the playing the best ball and to me, are the team to beat.  I know the Niners are at home and all, but the reality is that this is their first foray in the playoffs and its a whole new ballgame.  How is SF going to score enough?  Sure they have a good D, but NO will score on anyone.  I’ve heard some ESPN talking heads say NO has never won a playoff game on the road.  Is this a concern?  Not to me, I just say that NO is due.  I’ll take Brees and the Who Dats.

Denver Plus 13.5 – I doubt Belichick will allow His Holiness to beat them passing the ball, so get ready for a lot of running and eating of the clock.  If Denver can keep from turning it over, they can keep it relatively close.  The pressure is squarely on the Patriots not to gag again at home in the playoffs and this line is way too high.  Give me the points.

SUNDAY 1/15

Baltimore Minus 7.5 – It’s been a good season for Houston, but they are stepping up in class going into Baltimore.  The Ravens are a MUCH better team at home and I don’t see a rookie QB handling the pass rush of the Ravens and the home crowd noise very well.  I think this one could get ugly quick.

New York Plus 7.5 - The G-men are on a roll and playing with a ton of confidence.  I’m not sold that they can shut down Rodgers, but if they can get a good pass rush and maybe get a strip sack or two, they can win.  Having said all that, I think GB will pull out a close one so I’ll take the points.

SATURDAY 1/7

Cincinnati Plus 3 – These teams played a close game in Cincy earlier and I think the Bengals are playing with house money… And TJ Yates might not be able to play the whole game and would you trust Jake Pick-Six Delhomme??  I sure as hell don’t so I’ll go with the better QB to win outright…

New Orleans Minus 10.5 – The Saints are hitting on all cylinders and can’t see anyone going into that dome and beating this team.  Sure, the Lions can score points but in that environment, I can see false starts, undisciplined play, and pressure to keep up with Brees and that attack.  Detroit should put up points, but will falter down the stretch.

SUNDAY 1/8

New York Minus 3 – This should be a close game and wouldn’t be surprised if either team won.  Having said that, I’m not a huge fan of Atlanta and especially on the road plus they are a southern dome team and the cold will affect them.  The G-Men are riding high and playing up to their potential the last few weeks.  They have been in playoff-mode the last couple of weeks and will be ready to go to war.  I’ll take the home team in this one.

Pittsburgh Minus 8 – There is no way on earth the Denver Tebow’s are beating the Steelers, lets just get that out of the way.  However, this line could be troubling given Pittsburgh’s propensity to play low-scoring games and let inferior teams hang around.  That was the regular season but in the playoffs, I really believe they will step on Denver’s throat and not let up…Steelers big in this one.

1.Packers 15-1 Best team all season long but their defense might prevent them from repeating…

2.Saints 13-3 Best team at home for sure, but a different squad on the road.  I’m rooting for another match with Green Bay..that one will be awesome…

3.Niners 13-3 Best defense in the game but can their offense do enough to advance in the playoffs??

4.Patriots 13-3 The weakest #1 seed I’ve seen in some time.  They did not have one win against a team with a winning record and their defense is so weak, its hard to imagine them beating anyone good.

5.Ravens 12-4 If they can’t get to a superbowl this year, they never will…however, they may need to beat Pittsburgh a 3rd time to get there…

6.Steelers 12-4 Not always impressive, but they got a good draw against Denver and will set up a barn burner against Baltimore or New England.

7.Falcons 10-6 Not in GB’s or NO’s league, but can beat SF, Det or NY I think.

8.Lions 10-6 Stafford is pretty good, but their defense is pretty shaky.

9.Giants 9-7 Saved Coughlin’s job but don’t see them making much of a run in these playoffs.

10.Texans 10-6 Finally made the playoffs, but go in with a 3rd string QB…can you say early exit?

11.Eagles 8-8 Best non-playoff team this year….but nobody to blame but themselves.

12.Titans 9-7 Best AFC non-playoff team…a good solid season under a first year coach.

13.Bengals 9-7 Backed into the playoffs and got a good matchup with a QB-less Texan team.  Wouldn’t be surprised if they win this one.

14.Cowboys 8-8 The defense is the problem in Big D my friends, pure and simple.

15.Jets 8-8 Happy 43rd anniversary of your last superbowl appearance!!  When the Jets last won the superbowl, the dead sea was just sick…

16.Broncos 8-8 Backed into playoffs big time…now they get to face the Steelers to officially end their season.

17.Chargers 8-8 An enigma wrapped in a riddle….

18.Cardinals 8-8 Who is the QB in the desert going forward?

19.Raiders 8-8 Had the division gift-wrapped for them and they laid a big egg.

SUNDAY 1/1  – Happy New Year!

Philadelphia Minus 8 – Now that the pressure of the Dream Team is off and Vick is back playing, they are lighting people up.  Washington doesn’t match up with the Eagles and it should be another blowout win for Fat Andy and crew.

New York Jets Plus 1.5 – In full disclosure, I hate the Jets and don’t want them to make the playoffs… So….  this is my way of guaranteeing they lose…  and if not, then I chalk up a win…

Buffalo Plus 11 – This game is hard to handicap because NE may rest people and may make the score closer than normal.  Plus, the weather may be unpredictable this time of year and NE’s defense can make any QB look like Joe Montana….

Kansas City Plus 3 – These guys are playing for Romeo and it would be the icing on the cake to knock off the Denver Tebows….  Romeo has enough tape on the holy one to know how to defense him… Give me the points.

Arizona Minus 1.5 – In a battle of two teams that are evenly matched, I’ll take the home team with a less-than-3 pt. number to cover…

Baltimore Minus 1.5- This game is important to the Ravens to secure the 2nd seed.  They usually stink away from home, but they’ll be focused to prove people wrong and get the bye…

New York Giants Minus 2.5 – Who do you trust more in this one?  Both teams have given away games or laid eggs this year.  In a big one like this, I like the home team in cold weather to get it done…

1.Packers 14-1 Even with the hiccup that was the KC game, this team has been the best week in and week out.

2.Saints 12-3 Put on an absolute show last night, but can they go up to cold icy Green Bay and take out the Pack?

3.Niners 12-3 The best defense in the league…too bad the rules are now all slanted to offense…you can’t even give a receiver or QB a dirty look without getting a flag!

4.Patriots 12-3 The best offense in the AFC but you have to play some defense, don’t you?

5.Ravens 11-4 They’ll be good to go until they either play on the road or need Joe Bledsoe to win a game for them.

6.Steelers 11-4 Don’t need homefield as badly as they need a healthy Roethlisberger.

7.Lions 10-5 The good news is they made the playoffs after what seems decades, but they will have to go on the road to play in them.

8.Falcons 9-6 Proved last night that they ain’t going anywhere in playoffs.

9.Texans 10-5 No QB=No Playoff wins.

10.Giants 8-7 In typical Giant fashion they took out the Jets and will probably gag against the Cowboys.  You heard it here first….

11.Cowboys 8-7 Even if they get by the Giants, they will be one and done in playoffs.

12.Eagles 7-8 Now you decide to play now that the pressure’s off…

13.Bengals 9-6 They will show me something if they beat Baltimore and punch their ticket in…. having said that, I don’t expect to see it.

14.Jets 8-7 Hopefully this gag squad finishes on the outside looking in…   and in the words of Bart Scott…”CAN’T WAIT!”

15.Titans 8-7 Another team still alive, but need lots of help.

16.Broncos 8-7 Let’s see what the almighty Tebow can do in a must win game.

Kansas City Minus 1 – The Chiefs really like playing for Romeo and want him to get the job.  They’ll play hard and the Raiders are imploding like the Raiders have done for the last 10 years….

Denver Minus 1.5 – The Tebow show gets back on track this week against a Bills squad that has the U-Hauls packed and the Tee Times made already.

Arizona Plus 4 – The Cards have quietly been on a pretty good run with wins over the Cowboys and Niners.  I’ll take the points in what should be a pretty evenly matched game.

New York Jets Minus 2.5 – Should be a war in the Meadowlands and the loser is probably done for the year.  The Jets have a better track record the past couple of years so I’ll go with them.

San Francisco Minus 1.5 – The Seahawks have been playing pretty good lately, but they aren’t on San Fran’s level who are still in a dogfight with New Orleans for a first round bye.  I’ll take the better team with a small number to cover.

Philadelphia Plus 1 – Seems like the Eagles have the code to the Ryan Brother’s defensive schemes.  I don’t think the Cowboys can beat this team…

MONDAY 12/26

New Orleans Minus 6.5 – The Saints are just a different team at home in the dome and have too many weapons.  I see them winning by a touchdown or more and this number looks good to me.

Denver Plus 7.5 – NE’s piss-poor defense makes all mediocre QB’s look like all-stars so why wouldn’t Tebow benefit as well?  I’m on the Tebow bandwagon and definitely NOT on the NE defense bandwagon…give me the points.

Green Bay Minus 13.5 – This team is going for 19-0 and I frankly don’t see who’s gonna stop em…

Tennessee Minus 6.5 – Indy has packed it in a long long time ago and the Tits certainly don’t have any sympathy for them…payback’s a bitch…

NY Jets Plus 3 - I say the Jets can win outright and if you’re gonna sweeten the pot and give me points, then it’s a no-brainer.

Baltimore Minus 2.5 – The Ravens must run the table and try to get home field, its the only way they are going to the big game…  and a nice small number to cover makes this the play of the week.

Monday 12/19

Pittsburgh Plus 3 - Big Ben’s will play and this is a huge game for the Steelers to vault over Baltimore for the division and for the #1 seed in the AFC.  The Niners have been coming back to earth lately so give me the points….
